Coronavirus Testing for Entering America Nixed

by | Jun 13, 2022

Another feature of the United States government’s coronavirus tyranny has fallen by the wayside this week. The US State Department has announced that, as of Sunday, the rescinding of a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) order means that air passengers no longer “need to get tested and show a negative COVID-19 test result, nor show documentation of recovery from COVID-19, prior to boarding a flight to the United States, regardless of vaccination status or citizenship.”

Good riddance. The notoriously faulty coronavirus tests were always more about spreading fear and exercising dominion than about advancing people’s health. And, in this instance, the tests were used as a tool to decimate respect for an important and fundamental right of Americans — the right to travel, including the right to return unimpeded to one’s own country.

Still, even while the US government takes this step toward respect for liberty, it makes clear that it will continue to employ other aspects of its coronavirus crackdown as long as it can get away with it. In the same announcement, the State Department dclared the following in bold text: “Of note, CDC’s Order requiring proof of vaccination for noncitizen nonimmigrants to travel to the United States is still in effect.” Thus, tourists and business travelers must keep presenting their vaccine passports to enter America. Hopefully, many of these individuals will bypass the indignity and travel somewhere other than America for leisure and business.
