Speaking with Neil Cavuto on Fox Business, Judge Andrew Napolitano predicts that Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) strong reaction to Central Intelligence Agency snooping on the Senate Intelligence Committee she chairs “is a turning point in the relationship between the CIA and the United States Congress.”
This change of heart of “the biggest cheerleader, the strongest supporter, and arguably the most powerful member of Congress in support of the intelligence community,” says RPI Advisory Board Member Napolitano, puts Feinstein on a “collision course” with CIA Director John O. Brennan.

Napolitano’s comments regarding the potential greater significance of Feinstein’s dispute with the CIA, bring to mind the prediction of Three Felonies a Day author Harvey Silvergate in September that protection of liberty from intrusive police powers could come as a reaction to those powers being used on Congress. Silvergate explains in this exchange on the Lew Rockwell Show:
Rockwell: But you think, maybe, some people in Congress, because they are being targeted, may be open to some of these reforms?
Silvergate: Exactly. There is a sense of reform in the Congress. It’s palpable. You can see more and more of the members of Congress are talking in these terms. And, as you get more and more members of the legislative branch terrorized by the executive branch, you’re seeing that Congress is beginning to wake up….
