Moderna’s mRNA Flu Shot Receives US Government Approval

by | Aug 9, 2026

On May 9, I wrote about how political string pulling looked like it could succeed in bringing regulatory approval for drug company Moderna’s mRNA flu shot despite testing on the shot indicating that it is especially dangerous. Concluding the article, I commented that approval of the shot by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) “would be yet another indication that the Make America Healthy Again movement at the Department of Health and Human Services, where the FDA resides, is being consumed by the swamp that Trump used to be fond of promising to drain.”

This week, the FDA granted approval for Moderna’s mRNA flu shot, being marketed as mFlusiva, for people age 50 and up. Alex Berenson, whose reporting I highlighted for my May 9 article, provided a good review of the ultimate approval of the shot in a Thursday article at his Unreported Truths website. “Drug industry reform dies in darkness” is how he started his biting assessment.
