Challenging Religion-centered War Propaganda Concerning Iran

by | Oct 24, 2025

Pro-war propaganda often maligns the people in a place targeted for attack. That characterization spread far and wide in the country from which an attack is planned to emanate can help temper opposition to and enhance support for the attack and ensuing war.

We are seeing this type of propaganda operation in full force in America, with the people of Iran as the subject. It is for this reason that it is important that many Americans watch a documentary released Thursday from The Grayzone journalist Max Blumenthal. The documentary titled Uncaptured: Jews in the Islamic Republic of Iran challenges the propaganda describing Iranians as hostile to religions other than a particular type of Islam.

Blumenthal seeks to show in the nearly hour-long documentary featuring footage from his recent trip to Iran that the country is a place in which people of a variety of religions — with the documentary’s primary focus on Judaism — are welcome. Iran is a place, the documentary indicates, that Jewish Iranians like and that they choose to keep as their home.
