US Names 18th Afghan War Commander – Are We Turning The Corner Yet?

As the US names its 18th military commander in the 17 year long war on Afghanistan, is there any reason to believe that victory is in sight? The latest reports by the Pentagon to Congress show that no progress has been made and another recent report by the Special Inspector General found that the Afghan army is losing soldiers at an alarming rate. Washington’s proxies in Afghanistan don’t want to fight. So why not just end the war? Tune in to today’s Liberty Report:

Pompeo’s Bombastic Iran Threats: A Sign Of Weakness?

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered a speech to the neoconservative Heritage Foundation in which he made 12 US demands of the Iranian government. The demands were in places laughably inaccurate — demanding Iran close a heavy water reactor that has been dismantled for years — that one wonders whether it was just incompetence or whether they simply don’t care. The US is backing itself into a corner over Iran, risking losing its European allies and further emboldening Russia and China. What’s next? Tune in to today’s Liberty Report:

Deep State Coup Exposed: CIA Infiltrated Trump Campaign

Turns out there really was foreign collusion in the 2016 US presidential election. UK spies colluded with Obama hold-overs in the US deep state to try and get Hillary elected. When that failed they invented “Russiagate” to try and overthrow the US election. Will President Trump wake up and see the danger that the US intelligence agencies pose not only to his presidency, but to the whole country? Tune in to today’s Liberty Report:

EU Breaks With Trump Over Iran: Good ‘Blowback’

The European Union is furious over President Trump’s “capricious aggressiveness” in foreign policy, particularly after his withdrawal from the Iran nuclear agreement. While Washington Beltway “deep state” denizens moan over losing influence in Europe, there is a silver lining in Trump’s bombastic foreign policy: if Europe gets a divorce from the US there will be much less opportunities for US meddling. What will Russia do? Join today’s Liberty Report:

The ‘Bolton Effect’: From Breakthrough To Breakdown With North Korea

If President Trump is serious in his desire to seal an historic deal with North Korea then his employees are actively working against him. Based on National Security Advisor John Bolton’s bombastic CNN appearance over the weekend, the North Koreans have cancelled a high-level inter-Korea meeting scheduled for today and have suggested that the Trump/Kim summit scheduled for next month might be cancelled. Will warmongering Bolton trump Trump on Korea? Tune in to today’s Liberty Report:

Gaza Violence: Blowback For Jerusalem?

As President Trump’s daughter and son-in-law were celebrating the US embassy’s move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, dozens of Palestinian protesters were being shot dead in Gaza protesting the move. Supporters of the embassy move say it will bring a new era of peace to the longstanding conflict between Israel and Palestine, but it’s hard to see their rosy predictions coming to pass. In fact, yesterday’s violence seems to be a classic case of blowback from a wrong-headed US foreign policy move. Tune in to today’s Liberty Report:

Europe ‘Can No Longer Trust US For Protection.’ Good.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron are upset that US President Donald Trump pulled the US out of the Iran nuclear agreement. We agree that it was a dumb move on his part that will likely bring us closer to yet another war, but when Merkel said the Europeans needed to start taking care of their own security and stop relying on the Americans, a silver lining was revealed in an otherwise dark cloud. European countries spend very little on defense compared to the US and benefit from the US picking up more than one-fifth the total NATO budget. A Europe that takes care of its own security would likely be less belligerent toward Russia, thus lowering the risks of a catastrophic war. More silver linings in today’s Liberty Report:

Trump Kills Iran Deal – Who Wins? Who Loses?

President Trump’s statement upon ending US participation in the Iran nuclear agreement was filled with so many objectively false statements that it almost seems the neocons who crafted it were trying to make a fool out of him. The assertion that Iran is allied with al-Qaeda is so brazenly false that it rivals the tallest of the tall tales served up to lie Americans into supporting the disastrous Iraq war. So now with the US out of the deal…what comes next? What will the Europeans do? How will Americans react to the loss of 100,000 Boeing jobs due to cancellation of a passenger airline contract with Iran? We look at some of the implications of the move in today’s Liberty Report:

Congress To Green-Light Perpetual Global War?

A bipartisan Authorization for the Use of Military Force introduced by Sens. Corker (R-TN) and Kaine (D-VA) is being celebrated as evidence that Congress has finally woken up from its slumber and is asserting its Constitutional obligations on matters of war and peace. Nothing could be further from the truth! This “reform” legislation only legalizes the currently unsustainable status quo, where the president can go to war anywhere and everywhere, against anyone he chooses, with no further Congressional approval needed. This bill makes matters far worse, in that Congress will not be able to easily stop the president’s new wars: under this new bill it will take a 2/3 vote to disapprove of any new presidential war! And still worse, it will allow the president to “declare war” on an individual person — even an American citizen! That means if the president determines an American who opposes US foreign policy in the Middle East (or any other peaceful citizen) is an “associated force” — a term not at all defined — that citizen can be killed or indefinitely detained on a whim. We break down this horrific new bill — fast-tracked to pass — in today’s Liberty Report:

Iran Crisis: Will Trump Waiver On The Waiver…Or ‘Hang Tough’?

This week President Trump will have to decide whether he will sign another waiver to keep the US in the Iran nuclear deal, or whether he will de facto pull the US out of the deal (which would likely result in the collapse of the deal and possibly war). The closest US allies are begging Trump to remain in the deal, and even some US hawks like Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry think we should stay in. But the neocons want us out. What will he do? Tune in to today’s Liberty Report:

Is The Libertarian Moment Over? With Special Guest John Stossel

Is libertarianism cool? Legendary libertarian communicator John Stossel joins today’s Liberty Report to explain whether the libertarian moment is over, whether we are winning, whether we are on the right track, and how we can better win young people over to the idea of limited government and non-interventionism. What does John Stossel say to John Bolton when they meet at Fox News Studio? You won’t want to miss it!

Will Bolton Kill Korea Peace Deal?

President Trump’s National Security Advisor, John Bolton, has long viewed peace and diplomacy as an abhorrent sign of weakness. We know from colleagues in the Bush Administration that he berated and pushed to dismiss any intelligence analyst whose conclusions did not match Bolton’s pre-determined demands. He has a history of working behind the back of his bosses to promote his own agenda. Is he currently working to undermine President Trump’s peace initiative with North Korea? We examine the evidence in today’s Liberty Report:
