President Trump has informed Washington’s allies that they must cease purchasing Iranian oil by November. In a stunning upset, 28 year old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez unseated long-time incumbent Joe Crowley (D-NY) in yesterday’s New York Democratic Party primary. Crowley has long been in tight with the financial establishment and most of his donations came from mega-corporations. His challenger was largely financed by small, individual donations. Ocasio-Cortez is a self-described socialist whose views on the Middle East seem to contrast with Crowley’s strong pro-Israel position. Many conservatives are furious that Trump Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders was booted from a Virginia restaurant for political reasons, citing “discrimination.” But didn’t they support the Supreme Court ruling in favor of the Colorado bakery that refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding? And liberals viewed the Sanders boot as “justice” while decrying the bakery issue. The hypocrisy seems to run deep, but is there another solution? The US government has warned its jihadist allies in southwest Syria that there would no US military rescue from their impending defeat by Syrian government forces. US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said the US would leave the UN Human Rights Council because it was too biased against Israel and too resistant to reform. President Trump is dropping bombs at a record pace. Even though the US is technically not at war, in the first year of the Trump Administration some 44,000 bombs were dropped overseas. In the entire eight years of the Bush Administration 70,000 bombs were dropped and under eight years of “Peace President” Obama 100,000 were dropped. Trump looks to break the record. With so much attention paid to children being taken from their parents, why no attention to how many kids overseas are permanently taken from their parents by US bombs?
