Lori, sister-in-law Peggy, and Paula Deist. November 2019. RPI Donor Summit.

It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of our beloved friend and colleague, Lori (Paul) Pyeatt. Lori was one of the bravest people I have known, facing down her illness and brawling with it fearlessly rather than surrendering. She was strong like a stone and she gave all of us a great example of how to live our lives in difficult circumstances. She remained tough for the benefit of what mattered to her most: her family.

Lori had long been a key part of Dr. Paul’s Foundation for Rational Economics and Education (FREE), the Ron Paul Institute’s parent organization. She likewise played a central role in Ron Paul’s two Republican presidential runs.

It was a joy seeing her in the FREE office when she felt well enough to join us. Her own office wall was plastered with what must be hundreds of photos of her family. A testimony to what she valued most. And a fine example for the rest of us: keep all things in perspective. As Dr. Paul always says: family first.

She was an invaluable member of the planning team for our yearly Ron Paul Institute Donor Summit dinners at the Paul household in Lake Jackson. She loved helping her mother Carol organize the events and she loved visiting with our wonderful friends, whose generosity has kept the Ron Paul Institute growing every year.

Dear Lori: our hearts are aching for the Paul Family and especially for your most devoted husband Tom. Requiescat in pace.
