Russia Gets it Wrong

by | Mar 12, 2014

The Russian Foreign Ministry is barking up the wrong tree. Concerned over reports that the US government plans to begin shipping billions of dollars to prop up the government in Ukraine it helped install by coup d’etat, the Russians believe they found the best argument to dissuade the US from such a move: US law.

The Russians cite section 22 paragraph 8422 of the US law code, which “restricts assistance to the government of any country whose duly elected head of government is deposed by military coup or decree.”

Ha ha! How little do the Russians understand US Congress! Don’t they realize that virtually everything Congress does is illegal? Nearly every bill they pass is illegal?

Why do they think the champion of the Constitution, Ron Paul, was also known as “Dr. No”? Hint: he voted against nearly everything Congress proposed!

In fact, telling Congress something is illegal might just make it even more attractive.
