Lew Rockwell’s Pessimistic Optimism

Today the US media is entirely the spokesmen for the government, said RPI Board Member Lew Rockwell on the Ben Swann radio show yesterday. Every country not totally controlled by the US must be destroyed, and the media is out front to provide propaganda for the empire. At the same time, Rockwell — the ultimate optimist — sees so much to cheer as entrepreneurs and small free market practitioners continue to find new ways to thrive amidst the oppressive government controls. He says that through his Mises Institute he comes into contact with so many young people who are so well-read and so astute, and who have in common that they do not believe the government lies. He is, though a short-term pessimist, a long-term optimist.

The regime wants us to hate Russia, says Rockwell, but the war propaganda only serves the “unelected creeps” who populate the NATO bureaucracy and the neocons at home.
