According to western media reports, a phone call from President Trump to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu yesterday put a halt to the planned Israeli assault on southern Beirut. The call is said to have come after an Iranian warning of imminent strikes on Israel for that country’s continuous violation of the ceasefire of early April. Can Netanyahu be reined in this time? Or are we about to go back to active attacks?
