Donald Rumsfeld: Barack Obama Lacks 'Clarity of Vision'

It is rich hearing Donald Rumsfeld, who made some outlandish statements to advance the earlier Iraq War he helped instigate and manage as secretary of defense, fault US President Barack Obama for not providing “clarity of vision.”

Rumsfeld, in a Friday interview with Rusty Humphries of the Washington Times, says:
If there is one thing that we have seen, it’s that this presidency has been exemplified by not providing the kind of clarity of vision that a leader must provide if in fact they want followers. So, if you don’t decide what your mission is, where you’re going, and give people confidence that you will go there and not back off and not move aside you’re not going to get any followers.

Michele Bachmann Goes Berserk!

Michele Bachmann throws the blanket over all Muslims saying:
Yes, Mr. President, it is about Islam!

And I believe if you have an evil of an order of this magnitude, you take it seriously. You declare war on it, you don’t dance around it. Just like the Islamic State has declared war on the United States of America.

You kill their leader, you kill their councils, you kill their army until they wave the white flag of surrender. That’s how you win a war!

Lieberman: 'Attack Assad AND ISIS!'

Joe Lieberman finds no reason to keep up the facade of the backdoor-to-war with Syria. He flat out said on Face The Nation Sunday: “We should attack Assad and fight ISIS.”

The neocons, who were rebuked by the American public when Obama initially wanted to attack Syria, are back in the saddle. A couple of ISIS YouTube videos and it’s back to war with Assad -- who also happens to be at war with ISIS!

Krauthammer: Arm The Kurds!

While Senator John McCain is busy calling President Obama a sissy, with his “pinprick” airstrikes in Iraq, his neocon comrade Charles Krauthammer offers up the following idea:
The only thing that will make a difference is boots on the ground. Kurdish boots! Nobody’s asking for Americans. Just fly in the weapons!

'We Are With You...Here Are The Missiles'

Though in the limited time left before Congress adjourns for August break it seemed doubtful an emergency aid package to re-arm Israel could pass, it appears the Senate is not as moribund on some issues as others.

As PBS reported:
The Senate on Friday rushed through a $225 million bill to replenish Israel’s missile defense system, and House approval was expected in the final hours before lawmakers began a summer break.
Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) had blocked the quarter billion dollar supplemental gift to Israel previously, but when he was provided a menu of other programs that could be cut to make way for additional military aid to Israel he dropped his objections paving the way for the package to pass.

Rubin & Rubio Try To Keep Conservatives In Line

Panic time for neocons! Another poll has been released showing American disdain for the sprawling US military empire. This time Politico hands a piece of kryptonite to the warmongers. An incredible two out of three Americans want the US to stay out of foreign conflicts that are not a direct threat to US national security.

Jennifer Rubin the hectoring commissar is surely not happy. She trots out a quote from neocon Senator Marco Rubio to quell any conservative doubters that may come into contact with libertarian non-interventionists...

Michael Ledeen: A Deal With Iran Is Not Enough

If you’re a non-interventionist, neocon Michael Ledeen has some news for you. Don’t get too excited about a nuclear deal with Iran:
First, our problems with Iran go way beyond the nuclear deal. If we could wave a magic wand and cause the entire nuclear project to disappear, we would still have to contend with a radical Islamist regime that has declared war on us, and is waging it from the Middle East to South America.
Isn’t that an odd statement?

Iran is waging war on “us” in the Middle East and South America? Since when are the Middle East and South America “us”?

Michael Ledeen Wants 'Us' to 'Destroy Radical Islamism'

Michael Ledeen wants a new American war on “radical Islamism”. This is the man who in his efforts to get the U.S. to attack Iraq wrote in 2002:
He [Brent Scowcroft] fears that if we attack Iraq ‘I think we could have an explosion in the Middle East. It could turn the whole region into a cauldron and destroy the War on Terror.’

One can only hope that we turn the region into a cauldron, and faster, please. If ever there were a region that richly deserved being cauldronized, it is the Middle East today. If we wage the war effectively, we will bring down the terror regimes in Iraq, Iran, and Syria, and either bring down the Saudi monarchy or force it to abandon its global assembly line to indoctrinate young terrorists. That’s our mission in the war against terror.

So Long, Rep. Eric Cantor

Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), who is in his seventh term in the United States House of Representatives and fourth year as House Republican majority leader, lost his primary race for reelection on Tuesday. That means Cantor will be out of the House when a new Congress begins in January.

Over the last year, Cantor has earned the attention of Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity with his consistent war position — advocating war against Syria, war against Iran, and war against much of the world.
