The neocons have a jackboot in the door and they are commencing to kick it in. After they relentlessly hectored President Obama for last week admitting he does not have a strategy to deal with ISIS, the president this week decided to triangulate. Not a single US boot on the ground, he solemnly promised (though we already have 1,000), but he would bomb ISIS to smithereens wherever they might hide. Everywhere!
Syrian sovereignty? Illegitimate! Why? Because we say so! Bomb them! Syrian “moderates” cooperate with ISIS? Who cares! Arm them!
Obama’s models of success? The multi-year US bombing of Yemen and Somalia, which has left both countries a gnat’s hair above the post-apocalyptic hell of Obama’s last “humanitarian intervention,” Libya…
By repeating Bushian rhetoric about no safe haven for ISIS, Obama may have felt that he delivered a bit of red meat to the neocons and would thereafter have a moment of peace. Ah, but he has learned nothing. It was like blood in the water to the neocon sharks.
Neocon prince Max Boot is Tweeting effusively about a new “study” released by the Institute for the Study of War — run by the neocon Kagan crime family and lavishly funded by the military-industrial complex — which has determined that…wait for it…we need to send in at least 25,000 troops to Iraq and Syria!
There is nothing that would benefit the Institute for the Study of War’s benefactors more than thousands of boots on the ground. Anywhere. Which is why it is so profitable to prop up the Kagans (who are sisters-in-law to Victoria “F- the EU” Nuland).
Adding to the chorus of neocon sharks comes this colorful comment by former CIA/NSA director, General Michael Hayden, who told US News & World Report:
“The reliance on air power has all of the attraction of casual sex: It seems to offer gratification but with very little commitment,” said retired Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden, former director of both the CIA and the National Security Agency. “We need to be wary of a strategy that puts emphasis on air power and air power alone.”
With the door to attack open, the neocons have come rushing in to push for boots on the ground. A full invasion. Do it now! Do it fast! Do it before it is too late! It will be a cakewalk!

That, of course, is thanks to the endless “studies” conducted by the military-industrial complex- and foreign-funded “think tanks” which have prepared the psychological battlefield among the US population with the help of the mainstream media. It is 2002 all over again, with Americans seemingly hiding under their beds for fear of the ISIS brigades they have been convinced are poised to pounce!
Bombing ISIS? Don’t make Max Boot laugh! Boots. On. The. Ground! (Not his of course, that might spoil his nice three-piece suit).
